How It Works

The Spring Rate (k) determines how "stiff" a spring is. It is calculated using the formula:

k = (G × d⁴) / (8 × D³ × Na)
  • G: Shear Modulus of the material.
  • d: Wire Diameter.
  • D: Mean Diameter (Outer Diameter - Wire Diameter).
  • Na: Number of Active Coils.
